Alan Hatswell at BASSIX - a bass guitarist/double bass player for over 40 years - identified the wish by many bass guitarists to play upright bass, but often found the change in scale lengths a barrier. 1998 Wembley Music Show - the original Transition Bass was introduced. From the transition many models evolved to cover all aspects of upright playing and image.
It was in 2000 however that the 'Bass Master Multitech' was launched. This bass has encompassed all the best points from the previous ranges and has evolved further into the range of EUB's in production today!
Here is a nostalgic look at the previous models from BASSIX.......

This bass embodies various technologies from previous models which culminate in a light weight, slimline, compact 34" scale upright. Proportioned for easy transportability this instrument is slim enough to fit on edge between the front seats of most cars with machine heads resting on the rear shelf. Weighing only a fraction of previous models, but having a body shape 'big enough to get hold of', it bridges the gap between bulky semi acoustic basses and solid body compacts. Hi-tech fully moulded construction with tubular steel backbone is both light and durable, while the heavy grained Ash finger-board keeps a traditional 'woody' feel. Power from Kent Armstrong HUMBUCKER offers a wide range of sounds for all applications.
